I haven't done too much work with videos. Mostly I've played around with windows movie maker (I know, I know, but it was free, it came with windows and I didn't know what else to get), and quickly taught myself how to just put things together. This really extended out of my work with electronic collage, and resulted in a burst of creativity that lasted for just a couple of months. I've also done various performance pieces, and eventually I'd like to get some of them filmed so I can put them up here too.
Mixed Media
I've done a bit of amateur video editing, splicing together some pictures and music (mostly like an animated slide show). I'm not too likely to do this again anytime soon, as it took a huge amount of time and I really don't have much material to work with. I might try this again when I've built up more of a video library to work with.
Eyes
I put this together as a way to deal with a depression that I went through after reading Stone Butch Blues. It was a way to try to document part of the exploration I went through in finding my gender. It's based off of a bunch of family vacation photos as well as some close ups of my eyes that I took the night I put down the book. I'm really glad that I did it and see this as the best video piece I have put together, but I doubt I'll find the time to do something like this for a while, as it took me about 50-70 hours to put together.
Skies
During my splurge of creativity while I was teaching myself to use Windows Movie Maker, I put together this remarkably simple, yet emotional, piece. My brother was dealing with a lot of shitty stuff at the time and I had recently got the chance to take a trip with him to the beach. The vibrancy of the original picture I took was so overwhelming that I felt I needed to draw it out and explore it.
Performances
I've don't have any videos of my performances right now, but I hope to put up some videos of them sometime soon. I’ve done a lot of different things, but especially drag, spoken word, and personal theater.
