About Workshops I got into doing workshops when I was 16. At first they were mostly about ageism and adultism, then I started doing a few on sex education and how it is taught. It was important to me to get the chance to share and discuss the roles identity, privilege, and oppression play in each of the subjects I teach about. I've done workshops on dozens of topics now, and have always enjoyed them. Sometimes I've done the same workshop several times, yet I'm always happy to develop new workshops for specific purposes or audiences when I get the chance. That's probably why I've developed so many unique workshops over the years. Other Presentations While I've always focused on workshops, I've also done a wide variety of different kinds of presentations as well. I've presented guest lectures, done panel presentations, and done readings. I can do most of those on any of the topics below as well. Contact me for details. A Word about Intersectionality Workshops are often requested to focus on a specific
topic. Usually I work along issues of oppression and
intersecting oppressions, focusing on issues of sexual
orientation, gender identity, race, age, and specific
identities such as pansexual, genderqueer, and multiracial
identities. When speaking of my own experience, I
cannot separate out the various identities that I hold.
For example, I can't address the entirety of my experience
as queerspawn without discussing the race politics involved
in being a product of transracial insemination. And I
wouldn't be giving an accurate representation of trans
issues if I did not highlight my middle-class privilege and
discuss the issues that come up for transpeople without the
same resources that I have.

I'm happy to create unique presentations that fit issues or concerns your group would like me to address. I used to do event coordinating for my campus' LGBTQA student group, so I know what it's like from that end of things, and I try to be as easy to work with as possible, though things are always easier the farther in advance you contact me.
